8/15/2023 0 Comments Memories of a murderer reddit![]() ![]() Not the op but just because two movies are based on two different real life events doesn't mean that one can't be a rip off of the other. I thought it about Cure for a long time after seeing it too. Honestly some of the most twisted ones are in Barking Dogs Never Bite, it's not his strongest work but some of the stuff that happens is just terrible and we're all terrible for laughing too.ĮDIT: I'd recommend Kiyoshi Kurosawa's film Cure if you enjoyed Memories of Murder, it's and admitted influence of it. That's what his films are, funny things happen, you remember them and then there are dark and twisty weird horrible pay offs. There's comedy in the top half, with everyone but Seo Tae-yoon slipping on that dam hill and the cop that always kicking suspects.īut then those moments pay off, the cop that kicks people has that leg amputated, Seo Tae-yoon established as competent from the start, he didn't fall down the hill after all, is reveled as just as bad a cop as the rest of them, his hunch was bullshit and he was willing to beat a confession out of an innocent man. Personally I think Memories of Murder is the film that best shows Bong Joon-ho's formula, as much as he has one.
